Within the Congress Center as well as between the exhibition halls, the sessions rooms and the hotel rooms, accessibility will be given.


On the first day of the congress at 13.00h in room IV the BIB-First-Timer-Meeting takes place.
Congress Newcomer and interested participants will get some tips on the congress and will be shown around.
During a Welcome Drink you will also have the possibility to learn more about the BIB.
As the number of participants is limited, please register through the Online Registration Form.


On Wednesday in the courtyard of the Estrel you can visit some mobile libraries.

Certificate of Attendance

NEW: after the conference you will receive an e-mail with a personlized link in order to dowload your Certificate of Attendance.


There will be a video clip presentation area at the 107th German Librarian’s Day in the congress center. The area is located in Foyer 4 next to the social media area.

On Wednesday 13 June and Thursday 14 June you can discuss there with the authors between  12:45 and 13:45.

Closing Session

The Closing Session will take place on 15 June at 12:30. All exhibitors and delegates are cordially invited.

Company Presentations

The company presentations take place on Wednesday, 13 June and Thursday, 14 June during lunch break from 12:45 to 13:45 in the session rooms.

Exhibition Opening

The exhibition will be opened in the Foyer 4 on Tuesday, 12 June at 12:00. All delegates are welcome to participate.

Hands-On Labs and Project Labs

The Hands-On Labs and Project Labs accommodate new styles of learning; they are very practice-oriented and serve the exchange of ideas and information about planned or on-going projects and/or proposals for new projects. The labs help convey new methods and facilitate cooperation and exchange, especially at the beta or prototype level, by drawing upon open learning technology.

You will find the digital Hands-On Lab in the Estrel Saal, Lab I, three analog Labs in the Estrel Saal, Lab II, II and IV and the Project Lab in room Nizza.


The daily „ KongressNews“ has up-to-date information on the congress as well as information on short term changes. You can find them all over in the congress center.
The team of can be met in Foyer 4 which is in fron tof the entrance to the exhbition halls.

Library Visits

During the 107. Bibliothekartag a lot of events, excursions and inspections will take place in the libraries of Berlin. You can find the overview under ‘Programme – Events in the Libraries’.

Lunches and Refreshments

There are snack bars in the exhibition halls and a beverage station in Foyer 3 of the Congress Center.

Name Badge

The name badge has to be worn all times during the congress. The badge entitle you for the free entrance to all session rooms, the exhibition hall and the opening session with Get Together.

In addition the name badge also serves as ticket for the public transportation system for the city of Berlin, tariff zone AB which covers the center of the city and Tegel Airport, zone AB. If you arrive at Schönefeld Airport, you will need to purchase an Extension Ticket to also cover tariff zone C (1,60€).

Networking Lounge

You can charge your mobile devices at the Networking Lounge at the ekz booth in the exhibition hall.

Opening of the Congress

The Opening Ceremony of the Congress will take place in the Estrel Hotel on Tuesday, 12 June 2018 at 18:30. Afterwards there will be a Get Together in the summer garden of the hotel. A separate registration is not necessary, all exhibitors and delegates are invited. The name badge serves as entrance ticket to the Opening Ceremony and the Get Together.

Public Transportation

A ticket for the public transportation system of the BVG for tariff zone AB is included in the registration fees. It is valid for all buses, trams and metros including airport Tegel and main station. If you arrive at Schönefeld Airport, you will need to purchase an Extension Ticket to also cover tariff zone C (1,60€).

The public transportation ticket included in a full registration is valid from 12 to 15 June, for a day registration on the corresponding day.

The congress name badge serves as ticket for the public transportation system.

Speakers Room

We kindly ask you to hand in your presentation no later than two hours before the start of your session. It is not allowed to use USB sticks in the conference rooms or private laptops for presentations.

In the Speakers Room you will have the possibility to

  • Support by our technical staff
  • check your presentation on a computer
  • Uploading of your presentation to the server
  • Making changes in your presentation

The participants can use the free W-LAN throughout the conference and exhibition area.
